Barbecue (sometimes abbreviated ”BBQ”) is an ancient form of cooking large pieces of meat or poultry. The method is simple, but is often confused with other cooking techniques – especially grilling.
Regarded as meat are beef, pork, veal, and lamb although dieticians also count poultry, fowl and game birds as meats. The meat chosen for making into meat recipes may be lean or marbled in fat. Meats are also specified according to their cut from the carcass of the cow or the hog or pig. These include pork chops, spare ribs, pork loin, pork tenderloin, pork belly, pork shoulder and pork roasts. Similarly, there’s ribs, steak and ground meats. Packed with protein, cooked meats extend a hearty meal whether it’s for breakfast, lunch or dinner. It can be an ingredient for appetizers, be turned into a side dish or transform into the main course at the essence of the table.

Don’t keep on trimming
When you think you can’t handle more than what you need, then do not take the extra bite. According to Carolyn O’Neil, author of The Dish on Eating Healthy and Being Fabulous, trim calories whenever you can so you can leave the party feeling satisfied. When you take more than what you need, you feel stuffed yet still hungry. Or you might find yourself hungry after the first few hours where the party has started. Go easy with your nuts, cheese, cream, butter, whipped cream and most especially gravy.
When you are busy, you don’t get to think about food. Although it is toxic when you forget to eat meals because of the business in life, food helps a lot when you want to wander your mind off things.
Look for chewing gums
Let’s say you are really avoiding food. However, this does not give you an excuse to skip your meals. But in the event of this happening, because of the business of the season, pop a gum pill to your mouth. It is helpful when you are cooking or when you do want to dive into a large buffet meal. It keeps you off the extra eating or the early eating which normally should be waited upon.
Be a food snob
Alright, if you don’t love it then don’t eat it! The logic is very simple. If you don’t love it, don’t eat it, says American Dietetic Association spokeswoman Melinda Johnson, MS, RD. The buffet offers a wide variety of food and it is not necessary to turn down those that do not appeal to your appetite. Don’t pick food just because it is new to your senses. Be wise enough to say no what you don’t really want.
Skipping meals is a myth
Whoever said that skipping meals would make you slimmer? That is definitely not true. Eat your normal meals even the Christmas party is scheduled tonight. Skipping meals would lead your system to keep on grinding even if there is none inside it. Your next trip will be to the hospital for hyper acidity or ulcer. Always eat on time.
Don’t wade in loneliness just because you need to trim down fats for Christmas day. Enjoy the dinner with limitations. And always, spot those healthy recipes to relish the occasion without the having to worry about those extra calories.
