Preheat the broiler to medium. Sprinkle the prepared scallops with the lemon juice. Season with salt and pepper. Stretch the bacon a little, then wrap one piece around each scallop. Run a toothpick through the bacon and scallop to keep the bacon in place. Cook under the broiler for 5 minutes. Remove the scallops, turn, and cook for another 5 minutes or until cooked through. Serve with tartar sauce, if desired.

The broiler is used in this recipe to cook the scallops wrapped in bacon. You an also use the oven, preheating it to 400 degrees F. At this temperature, the scallops will cook in about six minutes. As soon as the scallops turn opaque and lose their transparency, they are already done and cooked through.
